As part of activities to celebrate 100years of excellence, Makerere University is thrilled to announce the NELSON MANDELA ANNUAL COMMEMORATIVE LECTURE

This year's Lecture will be held under the theme,

“The Legacy of Nelson Mandela & the Role of Higher Education in the African Union Agenda 2063”

Date and Time: Monday 18th July, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:30 PM EAT



Guest of Honour: Her Excellency Lulama Mary-Theresa Xingwana, South African High Commissioner to Uganda

Keynote Speaker: Professor Augustus Nuwagaba, International Consultant on Economic Transformation

The Nelson Mandela Commemorative Lecture, is hosted annually by the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, CHUSS in collaboration with the South African High Commission. 

On 31st August 2017, the President of the Republic of Uganda officially launched the Lecture where Ms. Zoleka Mandela, a granddaughter of Nelson Mandela, delivered the first inaugural lecture under the Theme: Mandela the Legend: A Message for the Youth.
