The College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology informs Staff and students of Makerere University as well as the general public that researchers in the college will Today Tuesday March 23, 2021, be flying drones over the university in an effort to collect date for ongoing research. Please do not be alarmed. The Researchers have sort permission from the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The team is carrying out research on "Methodology to Inform Compensation on Road Infrastructure Projects"

In this project, drone technology is being used to capture Up-To-Date data on the developments within the road corridor, using this to make compensation measurements and comparing the estimates with what was obtained using the manual methods. The comparison will make a basis for recommendations on land and valuation surveying using the methodology that is being developed.

Going forward and as part of data collection for the students on the project, data on the Kyaliwajala - Kira - Kasangati - Matugga road will be collected and used for analysis.
