SoE-UNDP Green Growth High Level Dialogue-HLD and Public Lecture

The School of Economics (SoE), Makerere University in Partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have organised a High Level Dialogue  under the theme "Realizing the Promises of Green Growth: Promoting Sustainable Industrialization in Uganda"

Date: 11th April 2017 at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala, 8am-1pm.

Thereafter, on the same day, there will be a public lecture on Africa's industrialization at the Makerere University Main Hall from 3pm to 5pm.

Dr. Arkebe Oqubay(PhD) will be the Keynote Speaker at the High Level Dialogue and will as well deliver the public lecture at Makerere University.

Dr. Arkebe Oqubay(PhD) is a Minister and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia. He holds a PhD in development studies from SOAS, University of London, and is a Research Associate at the Centre of African Studies in the University of London. His path-breaking and widely read book ‘Made in Africa: Industrial Policy in Ethiopia’ (Oxford University Press 2015) focuses on Africa’s Economic Transformation, Industrialization and Policy Making. I conjecture that this publication will anchor both his Keynote Address and the Public Lecture.
