Makerere University is collaborating on a project called Building capacity for REDD+ in East Africa for improved ecosystem health and for sustainable livelihoods in Eastern Africa (REDD-EA).  REDD+ is a policy framework aimed at mitigating climate change. The project supports 14 PhD students and 27 master’s students and several senior researchers at both Makerere university (Mak) and at University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM).The goal of the REDD-EA project is to contribute to reduced greenhouse gas emissions and improved ecosystem health for sustainable livelihoods in Eastern Africa.  The intended outcome is to strengthen capacity of Central government, local government, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and community institutions to plan and implement REDD+. In line with the above objective, a two-day dissemination workshop has been organized to enable the students to disseminate their findings to key stakeholders.
