Dissemination of Round-2 National Survey Findings PMA2020 Schistosomiasis Survey

Makerere University School of Public Health conducted a Second National Survey findings from the Performance Monitoring and Accountability (PMA2020) Schistosomiasis survey.  

Findings from this survey will be disseminated at a breakfast meeting

This survey was conducted together with the Vector Control Division at the Ministry of Health with support from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. The Uganda Bureau of Statistics provided technical support that included the identification of a representative sample of enumeration areas to conduct the survey.

The aims of the survey were to collect Nationally representative data from October-December 2017, from households to measure National prevalence estimates of Schistosomiasis infection among adults and children, determine the infection status one year after directly observed treatment with Praziquantel, determine knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding Schistosomiasis prevention, as well as relevant water, sanitation, and hygiene practices within the communities.  The findings will continue to contribute to the current Schistosomiasis control and prevention strategies undertaken by Ministry of Health and Partners.
