The Resilient Africa Network (RAN), Makerere University and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) invite you to a webinar on “Exploring relationships between shocks and household food insecurity in Africa”. Drawing on work recently conducted using data from Mali, Chad, Burkina Faso, Niger, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, this event will showcase how the partnership between FAO’s Data in Emergencies (DIEM) initiative and African Scholars, brokered by and through the RAN, is leading to high-quality and actionable socio-economic research for Africa.
The Webinar is open to development practitioners, policymakers, researchers, students, and development partners interested in the impact of shocks on food security in food crisis contexts. As well as the research itself, participants will be introduced to the power and potential of the unique DIEM dataset as a public good for all those concerned with agriculture and food security in food crisis contexts in Africa.
