The Director, Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR), cordially invites you to the 2023 MISR Graduate Students' Conference (GSC), an annual flagship academic event. This year, as MISR celebrates 75 years of existence, the conference will run under the theme

DECOLONIZATION AS METHOD: UNDERSTANDING THE THEME AND PLACE OF RESEARCH PROBLEMS.

Date and Time: 11th to 13th August, 2023 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM EAT each day.

Keynote Speaker: Professor Sabelo Ndlovu-Gatsheni

The GSC provides a critical platform to a diverse group of advanced doctoral students based in Africa to make sense, through reflections on their doctoral work, of what it means to do decolonial scholarship today.

For three days, participating doctoral students will get extensive comments and mentorship on their work from senior scholars from MISR and elsewhere, as well as feedback from their peers.

We look forward to welcoming you at MISR.
