The Health Professional Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI) has organized a 3-day Virtual Training session on Problem Based Learning (PBL) to be facilitated by Prof. Elsie Kiguli-Malwadde scheduled to start on Wednesday 24th November 2021 starting at 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

 

The 3 sessions will cover:

1.   An introduction to Problem Based Learning and Virtual PBL learning (24th Nov)

2.   Small Group Learning, the Tutorial process, and the effective PBL tutor, evaluation, and assessment (Date TBC)

3.   Introduction to problem-writing: Constructing a well-formed problem and Quality Assurance in PBL (Date TBC)

About the Facilitator:

Prof. Elsie Kiguli-Malwadde is the Director of Health Workforce and Development at the African Centre for Global Health and Social Transformation (ACHEST). She was previously the Director of the Medical Education Partnership Initiative (MEPI), African Coordinating Centre (CC) at ACHEST. She is a Radiologist and former Head of the Radiology Department at Makerere University School of Medicine.

She is the Secretary-General for The Network Towards Unity for Health (TUFH), a global organization with a vision to improve Global Health Professions Education. She is also the Vice President of the African Forum for Research and Education in Health (AFREhealth). She is an expert in Health Professions Education and has published widely in the field.
