A team of researchers from the Department of Population Studies, College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS), Makerere University, in partnership with Ministry of Works and Transport, Uganda Police Force and Uganda Harm Reduction Network with support from the Government of Uganda designed and implemented designed and implemented the project; “Improving Road Safety in Uganda: On-spot testing for Illicit Drug Use among Boda Boda Motorcyclists”

The project funded by the Government of Uganda through Makerere University Research and Innovation Fund (Mak RIF) investigated and generated scientific evidence on the magnitude and implications of illicit drug use on the road safety and piloted on-spot testing of drug use among boda boda cyclists in Kampala city.
