EUNILAC, whose secretariat is hosted by Makerere University School of Law brings together University Based Law Clinics in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania with the main objective of promoting public interest lawyering in East Africa. The network that was formed in 2014 set out to mobilize law teachers in the use of Clinical Legal Education teaching methodologies, promote public interest litigation, advocacy, outreach and networking.
EUNILAC working with Dodoma University in Tanzania with support from The American Bar Association ROLI (ABA ROLI) is implementing a project entitled: "Instilling civic responsiveness among law teachers, students and graduates on freedom of expression and association in East Africa."
The overall aim is to see an improved knowledge and awareness of freedom of expression amongst targeted students and law teachers and promotion of freedom of expression to address the needs of the public.
