Presenter:

Prof. David Serwadda:
Prof. David Serwadda is a Professor Emeritus at Makerere University and served as Dean of the School of Public Health from 2003–2009. He is the founder of the Rakai Health Science Program, which has pioneered research on HIV, and is the international principal investigator to the HIV Prevention Trial Network.

In 2019 Prof. Serwadda was named one of the world’s most accomplished scientists living in or focused on the developing world by The World Academy of Sciences, and in 2011 was elected fellow of the National Academy of Medicine. For 13 years, he served as the MakSPH Grants and Research Capacity Building Committee Chairperson. 

Prof. Serwadda has published over 400 peer-reviewed articles, is a Senior Editor of Life Journal, an international advisory board member of Lacent HIV and Lacent Public Health, as well as a reviewer for several prestigious journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Lacent, Plos Global Public Health, AIDS, Journal of Infectious Disease, and Journal of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome.

Dr. David Musoke is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health at Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH). He is currently the Chair of the Grants and Research Capacity Building Committee, and Coordinator of the short course in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) at MakSPH.
