The College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity is
hosting Prof. Deepak Balaji Thimri Govindaraj, Manager of the CSIR Synthetic Biology and Precision Medicine Centre at CSIR, Pretoria, South Africa.
Govindaraj’s research interests lie in establishing high-performance synthetic biology platform, generating systems/synthetic biology approaches for novel metabolic biosystems and establishing a drug sensitivity screening platform for cancer precision medicine.
During his second session, he will interact with interested University staff and student on the following subjects.
- Synthetic Biology: Concept, applications, and feasibility in low-income countries -sharing experience on challenges and opportunities.
- Network, collaboration, and funding opportunities for harnessing the potential of Synthetic Biology.
